The red one is a more rare one that has a rear window with a picture inside it of the race team as seen in the above picture. The van also came in an A-Team version (black with a red stripe) that came as a Blackwalls, or a Real Riders version.
The only vintage ones that I’m aware of from the 70s to 80s came in black, green, orange, red, and silver. You’ll find the earlier versions were made in Hong Kong, as the later versions were made in Malaysia.

They have Diecast frames, and have rubber treads on their middle tires, as well as the trailer’s tires. It’s not uncommon to find them for sale with the Diecast mud flaps located under the front bumper missing. Somehow they sometimes break off during play. This Semi truck is yellow, and was made in Hong Kong. It has a Diecast frame with a Diecast body. The middle wheels on the tractor cab as well as the trailers wheels have rubber tread on them. I imagine that the reason Mattel installed rubber tread over the wheels, is to give the truck more traction as one would steer the steering wheel. This truck was released in 1982. The tractor is dated 1981 on the frame. This is part of the Blackwalls era of Hot Wheels.
What’s pictured here is on a red French card. It was also made on a blue card for the USA.
