Hot Wheels Hot Bird (Pontiac Firebird Trans Am)

This Hot Wheels Hot Bird is dated 1977. It comes in various colors over the years. The ones shown here have Diecast frames with a Diecast body. They’re from the Blackwalls era. The ones with the gold rims are from The Hot Ones line. As shown, these are made in Hong Kong and Malaysia. The black one with the red interior is quite rare, as it was released later. I’m not quite sure of the year released, but it’s definitely hard to find. ~ Steve

Hot Wheels Steering Rigs GMC Tractor Cab Semi Truck

Here we have a Hot Wheels GMC Tractor Cab Semi Truck that came in yellow, and red. The yellow one as you see here was available with a United Grain Hauling Trailer. They’re dated 1980, and sold in 1981. They’re made in Hong Kong. They’re from the Blackwalls era. They have Diecast frames, and have rubber treads on their middle tires, as well as the trailer’s tires. It’s not uncommon to find them for sale with the Diecast mud flaps located under the front bumper missing. Somehow they sometimes break off during play. Please note: there could be some other colors or variations of trailers that are not mentioned in my posts. ~ Steve

Hot Wheels Steering Rigs Ford LTL Mayflower Semi Truck

20170303_092850This Semi truck is yellow, and was made in Hong Kong. It has a Diecast frame with a Diecast body. The middle wheels on the tractor cab as well as the trailers wheels have rubber tread on them. I imagine that the reason Mattel installed rubber tread over the wheels, is to give the truck more traction as one would steer the steering wheel. This truck was released in 1982. The tractor is dated 1981 on the frame. This is part of the Blackwalls era of Hot Wheels.

What’s pictured here is on a red French card. It was also made on a blue card for the USA.
